Technology

At Brookside Dental, we stay current on technological advancements in the dental field, so you can always expect you’re receiving the highest quality of care and unparalleled clinical excellence. Please contact us today for more information about the technologies we use and how they can benefit you.

3-D Cone Beam Scanner

The 3-D cone beam scanner is a special digital x-ray that captures high-resolution images for reliable diagnostic and digital treatment planning. The 3-D cone beam scanner captures three-dimensional images of the patient’s teeth, nerve pathways, soft tissues, and bone in a single scan.

The 3-D cone beam scanner has low radiation exposure and is perhaps the safest and most comfortable x-ray a dentist can use. We use the 3-D cone beam scanner to plan dental implant treatment, periodontal treatment, and more.

Digital Impressions

Digital impressions allow us to capture a detailed replica of a patient’s mouth. The dentist uses a wand-like instrument connected to a computer and advanced software to create a virtual model of the soft and hard tissues of the mouth. These digital replicas, or impressions, are more precise than a traditional mold and can be used for various treatments. After scanning the patient’s mouth, your dentist can immediately send the digital impression to a lab where specialists create custom-made crowns, bridges, and more.

IV Sedation

Your Nampa dentist is certified to administer intravenous (IV) sedation to patients. IV sedation is a form of conscious sedation or mild anesthesia administered through a thin tube placed in a vein. This type of sedation helps patients relax and prevents them from feeling pain. With IV sedation, a patient remains conscious but in a semi-awake state, which some call “twilight sleep.”

Televisions in Treatment Rooms

Brookside Dental has televisions in each treatment room in our dental office. During appointments, patients are welcome to enjoy watching TV for additional relaxation. We also use TVs to educate patients about their oral health and treatments, such as displaying x-rays.
